Grass, hay, straw and chopped material are secondary products in the Farming Simulator 17, which can be further processed for many other uses. If the TMR runs out, the productivity will drop to whatever level is appropriate based on what else the cows have left to eat. Farming Simulator 17: collect and use grass, hay and straw. This affects the rate of Milk production, Manure production, and Slurry production. If they are kept fully clean this goes up to 100%. You can wind-row grass without using a tedder, will leave it as grass. Once you touch grass with a tedder, it instantly drys it out and turns it into hay. If the Cow Shed is also properly supplied with Straw Bedding, the productivity will be 90%. Only grass bales can be wrapped to turn them into silage. The last two tasks can be performed by one, very efficient, but expensive harvester.
The following machines are necessary for you to buy: a special sowing machine, a machine that cuts the leaves and one that harvests the plants. Once TMR has been created, you can feed it to your cows by driving your Mixer Wagon up to one of the feeding troughs and unloading it.Īs long as the cows are eating the TMR, their productivity is increased to 80%. Sugar beets and potatoes require you to cut the leaves before you harvest them. When theres enough of it in the machine, the baler will produce a bale. Then, using a tractor with a baler attached to it, you simply have to drive around the field, collecting hay or straw. The easiest way to make TMR with straw is by mixing two bales of hay, one bale of silage and one bale of straw, if you are using the knight you will lose a tiny bit of the last bale you put in but its less than 1000 litres so its negligible. To do that, you will need bales and to make them, you will of course need either hay or straw, left on the field.
To be sure this doesn't happen don't use more that 25% straw or let silage/hay fall below 25%. Straw can be added to TMR as a filler as straw is very cheap compared to silage or hay its often added for this reason.īut don't add too much straw causing it to no longer be considered TMR and instead forage. If you don't have silage bales and instead made it in a bunk its recommended to put in the hay bale first and then fill up the mixer wagon. This is very useful if you have the silage in a bunker and can help getting the perfect ratio.Ī very simple yet effective way to make TMR is by just going 50/50 with silage and hay as its very simple to do if you have a large mixer wagon but if you don't and can't fit more than 16000, you can just put in one bale of silage and one bale of hay if your mixer wagon can hold more than 8000 litres. There are self propelled mixer wagons which can "suck" up the silage at the front of the the mixer wagon.
Be aware that if the mixer is almost full and cant take more than a full bale (4000 litres) the rest of the bale will be destroyed. Hay bales or loose hay can be used, same with silage and with straw too. Take on the challenges of the modern farmer Explore a huge open world including a detailed North American. Once the grass is cut, you need to tedder it so it can dry to hay and only then can your baler pick it up and produce hay bales. To make "pure" TMR, load the Mixer Wagon with both Hay and Silage, according to the proper mixture ratio (at least 25% of each, no more than 75% of each). THE MOST COMPLETE FARMING SIMULATOR EXPERIENCE. Cut the grass using a mower, then either load it with a loader wagon and sell it to the Biogas Plant, or continue with the steps needed to make hay bales for your animals. The mixture is fed to Cows at the Cow Pasture in order to increase their productivity by a very wide margin.
This substance can be produced by mixing Hay and Silage in a Mixer Wagon (with optional Straw as filler).
I found a mod that makes a feed station with conveyors, so that would be perfect, but it appears to be an addon for map makers, not a placeable.Total mixed ration (TMR) is a power food for cows. One option would be to bale it, but then transporting it 4kL at a time to the mixing station would be brutal. But the grass still grows faster, so I am wondering what you all do with it? I will usually fill the mixing station and then start some sileage. 2014 HS 16 Wheel Rake in good shape hook on and put to work.
I have the field next to the cows planted with grass, and after mowing, tedding, winrowing, and collecting I get about 90kL of hay. Livestock Equipment, Highline Bale Pro CFR650 Livestock Equipment 2013 Featherlite 8541. However, I am struggling with what to do with extra in between fillings. I have the mixing station mod and it is wonderful because you can dump an entire 50kL load of straw or hay directly into the hopper without having to bale it first. I was curious how you all handle hay and straw for your animals. today we get to work hauling hay bales to multiple customers.
